"Fashionably Traditional" by Roslyn Khongsai showcased @ "Elegance of the Indigenous"

It was a pleasure taking part in the recent show "Elegance of the Indigenous" in Imphal on the 27th April 2013. My collection inspired with the Northeast Tribe "Kuki" traditional motifs - Khamtang, Numei Saipikhup, etc. ,  targeted for the women folks of today's modern society wherein the young women married or unmarried are mostly working and are usually in the run. Fashion is something which keep changing and going along with fashion is a great task too! We all like simple silhouette and easy to wear garments but am pretty sure at the back of our mind most of us Northeastern-er like me feels that we should be able to carry and flaunt our traditional motifs in the modern days garment cuts and patterns.
The overlapped palazzo pants with Khamtang motif (Kuki women wraparound motif) is a good exemplary outfit created for those of us who are not accustomed to wearing wraparounds the traditional way atleast on normal casual routines. If we can be fashionable by wearing any brand with good cuts and style then why not own similar cuts and patterns with a plus point i.e a touch of traditional motifs!
